BHADERWAH, Sept 30: The Inter-District Division Level Tournament in Kho-Kho, part of the AAG Girls tournament, concluded at Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah. The event was organized under the patronage of Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of Youth Services & Sports J&K UT, and Harvinder Singh, District Development Commissioner Doda, with guidance from Joint Director Ved Parkesh and supervision by DYSS Officer Doda, Sunil Kumar.
The tournament saw an impressive participation of around 320 student players from various districts across the Jammu Division. The primary objective of the tournament was to identify and select the best Kho-Kho players for their subsequent participation in the UT-level Inter-Division competition.
The final matches drew a good crowd of students and sports enthusiasts. In the Under-14 category, Udhampur emerged as the winner, with Doda as the runner-up. In both the Under-17 and Under-19 categories, Udhampur again secured victory, while Doda finished as the runner-up.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony where Suresh Kumar, ZPEO Doda, along with Rajan and Vikram Singh Chandel, presented trophies and certificates to the winning and runner-up teams, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports Doda mobilized staff from various levels to ensure the tournament’s success, emphasizing the importance of promoting indigenous sports. District Doda showcased its commitment to providing excellent facilities and an outstanding arena for the competition, contributing to the event’s overall success. The matches were officiated by a panel from the technical committee of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
