JAMMU, Sept 25: The Department of Youth Services and Sports of Jammu organized the Inter District UT Level competition for Swimming (U-AAG Boys) today at Jodhamal Public School, Jammu.
The event was inaugurated by Ved Parkash, Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports Jammu, under the patronage of Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of Youth Services and Sports JK UT. The competition is being conducted under the overall supervision of Sunil Kumar Sharma, DYSSO Jammu, along with Harvinder Kour, Incharge of DYSSO Jammu.
This prestigious event attracted around 100 participants from various private and Government schools across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, providing a vital platform for young swimmers to showcase their talents. The competition consists of multiple swimming categories, allowing participants to compete in various age groups, from U-14 to U-19 years.
The organizing committee includes a team of experts from the department, such as Rajesh Sambyal, Gurdeepika Kour, Ranjit Singh, Suram Chand, Harpreet Bhalla, Amolak Singh and Rajesh Bandral, among other technical officials, ensuring a well-structured and fair competition.
During the inaugural ceremony, Ved Parkash expressed his appreciation for the participants and emphasized the importance of teamwork and dedication in sports. He encouraged the young athletes to strive for excellence and remain focused on their goals.
At the conclusion of the event, medals and certificates were awarded to the winners and runners-up, celebrating their achievements in various swimming disciplines. This competition not only highlights the sporting talents of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir but also aims to promote a culture of healthy competition and physical fitness among the younger generation.
