JAMMU, Sept 17: Arun Gupta, president Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry accompanied by Anil Gupta, senior vice president, Manish Gupta, secretary general and Rajesh Gupta, secretary met Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in Prime Minister’s Office and apprised him about the issues/ problems being faced by Trade and Industry here.
During interaction Arun Gupta briefed Dr Jitendra Singh about the implications of the recent order of J&k Labour Department regarding mandatory observance of “Close Day” practice by Shops/Business Establishments. “We have discussed the said issue with the Chief Secretary UT of J&K with whose intervention the said order has been kept in abeyance. We want that this matter should be resolved and closed once for all,” they said.
“There are a number of issues/problems being faced by Trade and Industry, but we think that this is not proper time to highlight the same in view of the ongoing elections. We expect to have another meeting after the formation of a popular government here, wherein we shall raise/discuss in detail the problems/issues relating to trade and industry. We are sure that your goodself will use your good offices to resolve the same,” he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh assured that after elections we shall sit together for resolution of all the pending issues related to trade and industry here.
