JAMMU, Sept 26: JKPCC working president and party candidate from Jammu South, Raman Bhalla today said that Jammu has become a victim of BJP’s politics of vote bank and false promises which were never fulfilled.
“The youth were misled with a promise of employment but unemployment increased. As far as development is concerned, it is nowhere,” Bhalla said adding that non-performance of BJP has put people under financial distress.
Bhalla addressed series of election meetings at Barjala, Gangyal, Rampura, Shergarh Tindey Kalan, Lower Gadigarh, Makhanpur, Simbal and RS Pura in Jammu South constituency.
He said tourism sector is in worst condition like transport, business, and industrial sector. People are losing their jobs and the Government is not holding recruitment on vacant posts,” he maintained.
Bhalla assailed the BJP for utterly failing in deliverance, saying the party has lost confidence and mandate of the people of Jammu. The 2014 euphoria, expectations and fanfare is terribly missing with disdain growing among people due to policy paralysis of the BJP partnered Government in Jammu and Kashmir, which is struggling to put its act together after plunging the State into unprecedented political and administrative crisis.
He said the people of Jammu are feeling let down and betrayed, as their problems are accumulating with each passing day.
Bhalla said the arrogance of power and lack of governance has distanced the BJP from its core constituency, which is hugely realizing the mistake of putting a bunch of agitators into the cradle of administrators. “For over six decades, the BJP had been exploiting the Jammu sentiment by crying hoarse over the so-called discrimination, deprivation and neglect but when it came to delivering, they just raised their hands”, he said, adding that not only the BJP pushed the region to backwards but also turned out as a big obstacle in its development and progress.
Congress leader referred to protests and strikes of daily rated workers and said that while a huge chunk of these people are taking to streets, the general public is suffering on account of utility services. Same is the situation with other segments of employees like teachers and Anganwari workers. He said the dejection among people is so deep that they don’t even want to go to their chosen representatives with complaints and demands.
