JAMMU, Sept 10: The J&K Sub-Junior Rollball team, comprising 26 talented boys and girls, has been cleared by the J&K Sports Council Screening Committee to participate in the 17th Sub-Junior Rollball National Championship, set to be held in Pune from September 12 to 15.
The screening committee, led by Baljinder Singh, Divisional Sports Officer and assisted by Suraj Bhan, Manager of the Indoor Complex and Joginder Singh, finalized the team after a rigorous selection process on August 24. The team has also been flagged off from MA Stadium Jammu.
The players have been undergoing intensive training under the guidance of Madhu Sharma, with support from coaches Suresh Kumar and Manvijay Singh Slathia. The team is expected to put up a strong performance, with Samuel Khokhar and Qurat Yaseen serving as captains.
The boys’ team led by Samuel Khokhar (Captain), consists of Bhavyansh Sharma, Mohd. Daiyan Bagdadi, Astitva Choudhary, Zehraan Talib, Vivan Sharma, Vaibhav Sharma, Amman Showkat, Agrim Bangotra, Sunandan Sharma, Reyansh Sambyal and Udhav Sharma.
The girls’ team, captained by Qurat Yaseen, includes Shahzadi Eleeza Makhdoomi, Arushma Mir, Dhwani Nanda, Areeba Mir, Urwah Sajad, Sanna Dhiman, Harshita Saini, Meera Verma and Qubrah Parvaiz.
In a motivational session, International Rollball player Suvidha Sareen encouraged the team to aim for excellence in the upcoming national event. The players are well-prepared and are eagerly looking forward to representing Jammu and Kashmir on the national stage.
