JAMMU, Aug 19: Jodhamal students have once again demonstrated their exceptional diplomatic skills at the prestigious Doon School Model United Nations (DSMUN) 2024. Over three days of intense debate and engagement, delegates from around the globe gathered to discuss global issues across various committees.
The inaugural ceremony featured Shishir Priyadarshi, a distinguished Doon School alumnus and President of Global Relations at the Adani Group, while the valedictory ceremony was graced by Ruchira Kamboj, former Permanent Representative of India to the UN General Assembly.
Under the theme ‘Musings of a Divided World, Resolutions of a United One,’ DSMUN 2024 saw Jodhamal students excel across 11 committees, including UNSC, DISEC, and COP29. Among the notable achievements, Guhika Sachdev was honoured as the best delegate in COP29, while Aviral Kapoor and Shaurya Jamwal received High Commendations in UNSC. Navaj Kunal Anand and Adhwik Mahajan earned special mentions in IPC, and Amaay Gupta received a Verbal Mention in UNOCT.
Their success is a testament to their preparation under the mentorship of Mubeen Butt, Anjali Gupta, and Raghunandan Singh, with additional support from Nivedita and Raghunandan as escorts.
Jodhamal’s continued excellence at DSMUN reinforces the school’s legacy of diplomatic and academic prowess, setting a high standard for future aspiring diplomats. Nandan Kuthiala, Arati Kuthiala, Girish Kumar, and Amita Arora further celebrate the students’ achievements and their contribution to the school’s esteemed reputation.
