JAMMU, July 8: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held at Jagti township near here, today under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita in which all the members suggested that a United Action Committee of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits be formed by bringing representatives from each camp and non-camp to the Committee.
Addressing the meeting Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC said a Committee on the demand of members will be formed under the name and style of All Displaced Kashmiri Pandits United Action Committee and the names of its members will be published shortly.
Pandita said all the representatives of the Committee along with Jagti Tenement Committee will work Jointly for Kashmiri Pandit’s return, rehabilitation and reconstruction of Satellite townships in Kashmir valley.
Pandita said in the meeting it was also decided that the Committee will strongly put its demands before the Government so that the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits can be done once and for all. The other demands which were highlighted by the members included monthly cash relief of relief holders be enhanced from Rs 13,000 to 25,000, Government jobs be given to unemployed youth of the community, losses of movable and immovable properties be given to Kashmiri Pandits, bank loans be given to over aged youths without interest and minority status to be given to Kashmiri Pandits.
