‘Know Your Artisan’ initiative showcases Arshad Sauleh’s work

SRINAGAR, Sept 2: The Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom today organized a painting exhibition featuring the exquisite works of Arshad Sauleh as part of their ‘Know Your Artisan’ initiative.
The event, hosted at the prestigious Kashmir Arts Emporium, was inaugurated by Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce.
A stunning collection of 35 paintings graced the exhibition, showcasing Arshad’s remarkable talent and artistic prowess.
Arshad’s paintings unveiled a world of realistic landscapes and intricate calligraphy intertwined with the beauty of nature.
Speaking about his lifelong journey in art, he shared, “I have been associated with art from the age of 5, and I can say that I was a born artist. So far, I have done 20 solo shows while there are scores of group shows.”
Acknowledging the role of cultural institutions, he emphasized, “Cultural academy is working effectively for the preservation and the promotion of art, but more needs to be done in this regard because every place has a glory due to its art.”
He also highlighted the need for a proper art gallery in Srinagar, urging the government to take necessary steps for its establishment.
Vikramjit Singh expressed his appreciation for Arshad Sauleh’s talent, stating, “We have just inaugurated it; the event solely belongs to Arshad. It is a part of our initiative ‘Know Your Artisan’.
