1st J&K Open Table Tennis C’ship-2024

JAMMU, July 13: Maanay Mansotra won Men’s singles title and Mishti Agarwal won Women’s singles title at the 1st J&K Open Table Tennis Championships-2024, here today.
Maanay defeated Akash by 3-2 in the finals of the Men’s Singles, whereas Mishti Agarwal emerged winner in Women’s final by defeating Iknoor Kour by 3-2.
The men’s final was a close contest with both the players gave all they had but Maanay closing on the final in style to take the match and championship by 3-2. Earlier in the Men’s semi finals Madhav gave a tough resistance to Maanay but finally went down by 3-2. In the other semi -finals Akash defeated Mannat Arora by 3-0.
The chief guest on the occasion was Ajay Sharma, Senior Vice President J&K Table Tennis Association, who witnessed the final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners. He congratulated the organizers for organizing the tournament and hailed the sportsman spirit and the efforts put in by the participants.
The tournament was organized by Moon Table Tennis Academy in collaboration with J&K Table Tennis Association under the aegis of J&K Sports Council under their initiative “My Youth My Pride.”
The other results were (Under-9) Winner- Syrah Dewan, Runners up- Satvik Nischal. Hops Boys (Under-11) Winner- Saiyam Nischal, Runners up- Shaswat. Cadet Boys (Under 13) Winner- Saiyam, Runners up- Samar Dev Bansal. Cadet Girls (Under 13) Winner- Myrah Dewan, Runners up- Srishti.
Sub Junior Boys (Under 15) Winner- Samarth Nischal, Runners up- Saiyam Nischal. Sub Junior Girls (Under 15). Winner- Arushika Dabar, Runners up- Myrah Dewan. Junior Boys (Under 17) Winner- Hunny, Runners up- Samarth Nischel.
Junior Girls (Under 19) Winner- Mishti Agarwal, Runners Up- Arya Giri. In the Open Doubles final Maanay-Asad defeated Akash-Nitin.
Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports officer, Satbir Singh, Suraj Bhan, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Rajan Sharma, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Meenu Rajesh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh and Maninder Singh among others were present on the occasion.
