JAMMU, July 20: A man allegedly committed suicide today by hanging self at his residence in Sainik Colony area.
According to a police official, a man identified as Surinder Singh (54) son of late Sant Singh, resident of Sector G, Sainik Colony, allegedly hanged himself from the hook of the ceiling fan with the help of a cloth.
“As soon as the family members noticed him hanging, they rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” the official said, adding that the body was sent for postmortem while Sainik Colony police had taken cognizance of the matter.
