MSJK protests against water, power crisis

JAMMU, July 5: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) activists here today staged a protest demonstration against PHE and PDD and demanded free electricity and drinking water to the people of J&K.
The protest was led by MSJK president, Sunil Dimple and the protesters raised slogans against poor water and power supply in Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion Sunil Dimple said that most of the transformers and jumper in many Wards are not properly functioning.
He claimed that due to power fluctuations, many gadgets like fans, ACs etc have been damaged.
The MSJK leader demanded return of Salal, Uri and Ratle Power Projects to J&K and waiving off of electricity bills of poor families.
He also demanded immediately start of construction work of water supply scheme on Chenab river from Akhnoor to Jammu city.
Another demand raised by Dimple was free 500 units of electricity per month to the people of J&K.
Prominent among protesters were Rekha Devi, Koushlya, Rani Devi, Shakuntla, Poomam, S. Mangu Singh, Partap Singh, Vikram Singh, Sudershan Sharma, Rinku Sharma and others.
