JAMMU, Nov 5: Nadeem’s four wickets haul and Jagmohan’s 45 runs with bat helped Jammu and Kashmir Specially Abled team to register 4 wickets win over Gujarat’s specially abled in the ongoing Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Cricket Cup, played at KD Singh Babu Stadium Lucknow, today.
It is the fourth consecutive win of J&K during the Inter-State Cricket Championship.
Batting first, Gujarat Cricket team scored 141 runs by losing 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, wherein RohanVaghela was the top scorer with 58 runs, while Rajiv Mishra made 27 runs and Sarfraz contributed 14 runs. From the J&K side, Nadeem was wrecker-in-chief who took 4 wickets, while Jagmohan and Amir took 1 wicket each for the team.
In reply, the J&K Specially Abled team chased the target in 19.2 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Jagmohan was the top scorer who made 45 runs, while Wasim Iqbal made 26 runs and Jaffar contributed 25 runs for the team. From the bowling side, Sachin took 3 wickets, while Sachin and Naresh Chillur took 1 wicket each.
Jagmohan was declared as man of the match and was awarded with Rs10000. Now, the J&K team will play the semi-final against West Bengal tomorrow.
Rajesh Gill, former Ranji player and mentor of J&K Physically Challenged Cricket team congratulated the team for the brilliant performance in the national tournament and conveyed his best wishes for the semi-final match.
