JAMMU, Sept 13: Intensifying campaign for the BJP candidates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a massive election rally at Doda tomorrow, Srinagar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on September 19 and Jammu and Kathua districts on September 26 while Union Home Minister Amit Shah will canvass at Kishtwar and Paddar-Nagseni constituencies on September 16, the last day of campaigning in eight seats of Doda region which will go to polls in first phase on September 18.

BJP national president JP Nadda is also scheduled to address couple of rallies in the next few days.

Senior party leaders told the Excelsior that Modi will address a massive rally in Doda tomorrow where all eight candidates of the BJP from Doda region will be present along with Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh, who represents Doda-Udhampur-Kathua Lok Sabha seat.
Gajay Singh Rana, Shakti Parihar and Daleep Parihar are the BJP candidates from three Doda Assembly seats while Sunil Sharma, Shagun Parihar and Tariq Keen are the party representatives from three Kishtwar constituencies. Rakesh Singh Thakur and Mohammad Saleem Bhat are the BJP nominees on two seats of Ramban district.
“The Prime Minister will address two rallies in Jammu and Kashmir on September 19 including first in the morning at Srinagar and second in the afternoon at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra seat in Reasi district,” the party leaders said.
Reasi district has three Assembly seats including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Reasi and Gulabgarh. BJP has fielded Baldev Raj Sharma from Katra, Kuldeep Raj Dubey from Reasi and Mohammad Akram Choudhary from Gulabgarh.
The Prime Minister will address two more rallies for third phase of polling on September 26 including one at Jammu and second at Kathua. Venues for Jammu and Kathua rallies are being finalized.
There are 11 Assembly constituencies in Jammu district and six in Kathua. The PM will address one joint rally for 11 candidates of Jammu district and another for six candidates of Kathua district.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also address two rallies in Kishtwar district on September 16. The rallies will be held at Kishtwar and Paddar-Nagseni Assembly seats.
Shagun Parihar, kin of martyrs Anil Parihar and Ajit Parihar, prominent BJP leaders, is the BJP candidate from Kishtwar while former Minister Sunil Sharma is contesting from newly created constituency of Paddar-Nagseni.
BJP national president JP Nadda is also scheduled to address couple of rallies in Jammu within the next few days. The date and venues of the rallies are expected to be finalized within next couple of days.
Eight Assembly seats of Doda region will go to polls in first phase on September 18 and the campaigning will come to an end in the evening of September 16.
In the second phase on September 25, 11 seats of Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi districts will have voting while 24 seats of Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts will witness polling in last and third phase of elections on October 1.
