JAMMU, Apr 27: Presentation Convent Sr. Secondary School, Jammu, organized the Annual Nano Nagle Memorial Inter School Debate in the school auditorium, here today.
Dr Sapna Sangra, Assistant Professor, Sociology, University of Jammu graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Rashim Kashyap, Pooja Wazir and Shailender were the adjudicators of the event.
The house debated on the topic ‘Reservation For Women in Politics is a sure step to gender equality in India’.
In all, ten schools participated from across Jammu.
In this battle of wits, the ardent participants not only presented their steadfast opinions on the topic but also displayed their oratorical skills making the venue abuzz with palpable excitement. With their belief in a raised argument and not in raised voices they could convince the audience with their opinions.
Aastha of Heritage School bagged the first position, while Vasu Khajuria of Presentation Convent, Jammu and Gungun Anand of Jodhamal Public School were judged second and third respectively. Tejaswini Sharma of Presentation Convent, Jammu received the Consolation Prize. The coveted Rolling Trophy was lifted by the host School, Presentation Convent Sr. Secondary School, Jammu.
The chief guest in her address congratulated the participants for their brilliant show.
