JAMMU, Aug 6: The NSS Units and Department of EVS of Government SPMR College of Commerce today organized a quiz competition under the aegis of IQAC.
The event was part of ongoing efforts to encourage responsible citizenship and environmental stewardship among the youth. Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh was chief guest while Dr Ranvijay Singh, Controller of Examinations, Cluster University of Jammu was guest of honour for the event.
The quiz competition covered various aspects related to cleanliness, including waste management, sanitation practices, environmental sustainability and the importance of community participation in cleanliness drives.
It was designed to engage and educate students on practical measures they can take to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. Participants and attendees also had the opportunity to engage in discussions with experts in the field of environmental studies and waste management, further enriching their understanding of the topic.
Participants from different semesters formed teams and showcased their knowledge and understanding. The competition not only tested their academic knowledge but also promoted teamwork and critical thinking.
The winning team of the competition consisted of Tanishka, Rohit, Harpreet and Sugam, all from Semester 3rd.
The entire programme was organised and coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Dr Deepshikha Sharma and Dr Deepak Pathania along with Prof Esha Abrol and Prof Shaji Khan. Those present on the occasion included Prof Pawan Gupta, Dr Reena Rani, Prof Rekha Gupta, Dr Chetna Gupta, Prof Monika Mahajan, Dr Roomi Rani, Prof Sanjeev and others.
