SAMBA, July 9:District Police Samba in its drive against the sale of illicit liquor has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 85 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station, (PS) Ramgarh.
Acting on an information received from reliable source regarding sale of illicit liquor at Village Swankha, Ramgarh a police party of PS Ramgarh headed by SHO, Ramgarh, Inspector, Asha Nand under the supervision of SDPO, Vijaypur, Ms.PriyankaKumari apprehended a person namely Khem Singh, son of Raghubir Singh of Swankha, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba who was selling illicit liquor to the general public in the area at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
While checking, a total of 85 bottles (JK Special Whiskey) of 180ml each were recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 59/2022 U/S 48(a) Excise Act registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
