JAMMU, Aug 10: With an aim to eliminate menace of child labour from Jammu district, Sanjeev Gandotra, Mobile Magistrate has imposed fine of Rs 30,000 on two business establishments under Shops and Establishment Act 1966.
Fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on M/s Vaishno Dhaba, Maheshpura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar against the defaulter namely Ashu Kumar alias Pawan, while fine of Rs 20,000 was imposed on M/s Chattys Corner, C/o Veekage Foods Corporation, Nanak Nagar Jammu against the defaulter Madhu Jain, W/o Kamal Jain including 6 hours imprisonment to her.
The challan in these cases were presented before the court of law against the erring defaulters and Labour Department was represented by Pawan Bhatti, Labour Officer Prosecution.
Renu Bala Saini, Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu has appealed to Jammuites not to employ any child for domestic purpose or in commercial establishments for avoiding the legal action against the erring persons.
