JAMMU, Sept 10: A seminar on ‘Satellite Duggar Channel a necessity’ organized by Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) was held here today.
The seminar was focused on the necessity of Satellite (DTH) Channel for Jammu region to protect, promote and develop the rich cultural heritage art and languages of Duggar Pradesh could reach every household and Doordarshan is the only medium that could educate and transfer the culture, Languages and heritage to the coming generation easily.
The programe started with the welcome address by Madan Rangila, vice-president DADAA.
In the opening address, General Secretary of the association, Janak Khajuria highlighted the importance of Satellite Duggar channel.
He said, “The identity of any community is defined by its language, culture and heritage, a community that forgets its language, culture and heritage ceases to exist, so this is our moral duty to protect the cultural heritage art and languages of Duggar Pradesh and also transfer this to our coming generation.”
The dignitaries presented in the seminar appreciated the efforts of DADAA to organize a seminar on the most important and burning topic of Satellite Duggar Channel a necessity and assured DADAA for their support in this noble cause.
Earlier, Dr Nasib Singh Manhas, former Director (Progms) Doordarshan was felicitated for his contribution in the field of art, culture and language.
The team DADAA presented him a Shawl, Dogra Turban and a memento, as token of love and respect.
Among others who addressed during the seminar included Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Th Gulchain Singh Charak, Padamshri Jitender Udhampuri, Padamshri, S P Verma, Padamshri Mohan Singh, Shakeel Ahmad, Dr Nasib Singh Manhas, Ravinder Koul, Rajinder Motiyal, Dr Kasturi Lal, Dr Arvinder Singh Aman, Dr Baljeet Raina, Dr Veena Gupta, Maj Gen S K Sharma, Jorawar Singh, O P Sharma and Dr Nirmal Vinod.
The vote of thanks was presented by J S Babli, president DADAA.
