JAMMU, Sept 16: Students from the School of Mathematics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) achieved remarkable success at the one-day student conference and Alka Memorial Mathematical Competition organized by the Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu, in association with the Jammu Mathematical Society. Ariba Rauf, a 5th-semester B.Sc. Mathematics student, won first prize in the student conference, while Romel Dutta, a second-year M.Sc. Mathematics student, secured second place in the Alka Memorial Mathematical Competition.
The awards were presented by Padmashri Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chairman of the Higher Education Council, J&K UT, during the inaugural function of the National Seminar on Recent Trends in Analysis and Allied Areas 2024, held at the University of Jammu. Dr. Kuldip Raj, Head of the Department of Mathematics at SMVDU, was present at the award ceremony.
Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, along with the faculty members of the School of Mathematics, congratulated the students on their outstanding achievements and encouraged them to continue bringing laurels to the university.
