JAMMU, July 9: Senior BJP leader and District Development Councillor, Pandit Suresh Sharma here today inaugurated two new motor pumps at a cost of Rs. 55 lakh in Maira Mandrian and Balgara Panchayats of Chhamb Assembly Constituency.
The motor pump installed at Maira Mandrian water project incurred an expenditure of Rs. 17 lakh and that at Balgara-Payan Rs. 37 lakh.
Addressing the people on the occasion, Sharma said that this was a very long pending demand of the locals and often when the old motor pumps got damaged, people had to wait for 20-25 days for getting water supply.
“Now with the installation of new motor pumps, people will not have to face the problem of water,” he informed adding: “In coming days, an additional motor pump will be installed on each water project (stand by machinery) due to which the people will not have to face water problems.”
Sharma said that under the leadership of PM Modi, Union Government’s Jal Jeevan Mission project is proving very beneficial.
“In coming days, a new tube-well will be built in Panchayat Maira Mandrian, in village Targah and in Payan and the locals of these areas will get rid of water problem,” he continued.
