SUCHETGARH, Aug 19: Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh, today welcomed the appointment of Tariq Hameed Karra as the new President of JKPCC.
Tony also welcomed the appointment of Tara Chand as Working President of JKPCC and said that Tara Chand represents the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community and brings a wealth of experience, having served as the former Deputy Chief Minister. His leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our party’s outreach and inclusivity.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the Outgoing President, who served the Party with utmost dedication and capacity.
Addressing during a function held here today, Tony emphasized the importance of unity and hard work among Congress members as the state prepares for the upcoming Assembly elections.
He urged every member to strive for victory, highlighting the failures of the current BJP-led administration.
“The BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu and Kashmir by bifurcating our state into two Union Territories. This move has not only undermined our state’s identity but also facilitated the rise of various mafias,” he said.
Tony concluded by rallying support for the Congress, led by Rahul Gandhi, as the only party capable of bringing true “Acche Din” (good days) to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We must oust the BJP to restore dignity, integrity, and prosperity to our state. Together, we can bring about the real change that our people deserve,” he added.
