LEH, July 11: Two Army men after some military equipment they were repairing went off in this Ladakh district today.

While Craftsman Sankara Rao Gottapu suffered fatal injuries, Havildar Shahnawaz Ahmed Bhat injured himself grievously while undertaking critical repair of military equipment, a component of which accidentally burst around 1000 hours today, officials said.
They said the injured Army man was evacuated to a medical facility in Leh by air for further treatment, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries this evening.
In a statement, the GoC Fire and Fury Corps and all ranks have saluted the brave hearts, who made the supreme sacrifices in the line of the duty.
They also offered deep condolences to the bereaved families of the martyred soldiers in the hour of grief.
