JAMMU, Sept 23: Two drug peddlers were arrested with 46 grams of Heroin from Janipur area here today, officials said.
They said a team of Police Station Janipur led by SDPO West, Vikram Singh, and assisted by SHO Janipur, Inspector Sikandar Singh, was conducting a checkpoint duty at Buta Nagar Paloura area when they apprehended two individuals under suspicion.
Upon searching the suspects, they discovered 46 grams of heroin from their possession, officials said.
The accused were later identified as Rinku Massih of Gurdaspur, Punjab, currently residing at Sainik Colony, Jammu, and Ajay Kumar of Graint, Amb Gharota, Jammu.
The duo has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 101/2023 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Janipur and further investigation taken up.
