Seeks vote for Mankotia, Ganga, Darshan

UDHAMPUR/ KATHUA, Sept 24: Union Minister of Road -Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari today said that with abrogation of Article 370, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government led by Narendra Modi removed a stigma attached to the erstwhile J&K State to take it on the path of progress and prosperity.

Addressing an election rally at Chenani in Udhmpur district today seeking support for BJP candidate, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Gadkari said the entire situation in the country is changing fast as India is going to emerge a global power under Modi.
Gadkari said that in one country their can’t be two Constitutions, two flags and two heads of State, so the BJP after coming to power annulled the controversial Article 370 and 35 A to bring the erstwhile State of J&K at par with other States and fully integrate it with the Union of India.
He said BJP had been giving a slogan “Jahan Hue Balidan Mookherjee Woh Kashmir Hamara Hai” (The Kashmir where Dr Shayama Prasad Mookherjee laid down his life is integral part of India) and to attain this goal we annulled 370 and fulfilled our commitment to the nation.
He said BJP wanted to eradicate poverty in J&K and change the entire situation in the UT by creating vistas of development.
The Union Minister said BJP wanted to remove poverty in J&K and take the UT to touch new heights in development and make it a self reliant State of the country by promoting trade, industry and tourism. Click here to watch video
He said under Narendra Modi India has become the fifth economy of the world and it is heading to become the third global economy. He added that India is fast treading on the path of development and prosperity and emerging as a global power. In coming years, it will be the five trillion dollar economy of the world and attain the goal of becoming Wishaw Guru, he added.
While seeking the vote for Balwant Singh Mankotia, Gadkari said strengthening his hands will open new doors of development for Chenani Assembly segment. He assured the people that he will take personal interest in the development of this constituency.
The Union Minister said Mankotia has earlier also approached him for the development of this area and besides, the projects falling under his Ministry he will even take keen interest is getting projects through for this constituency from other ministries also.
He said with whatever demand Mankotia comes to him, he will try his level best to settle that. He appealed the people to vote for BJP.
Earlier Gadkari addressed the election rally at Mahanpur in Basohli Assembly segment of Kathua district and appealed people to vote for BJP candidate Darshan Singh.
Gadkari highlighted the development made in the J&K during Modi Government especially after abrogation of Article 370. He said the pace of development in the UT will continue after the BJP is voted to power in J&K. He said presently Rs 2000 crore roads and other projects are going on in J&K and listed various projects undertaken by his Ministry.
He said Lakhanpur -Doda-Bhadarwah corridor of Rs 400 crore project is under proposal and it will be completed upto 2027.
Later, Gadkari also addressed another election rally at Smailpur in Vijaypur Assembly segment of Samba district to seek vote and support for BJP candidate and former Minister Chander Parkash Ganga.
The election rally at Chenani was also addressed by Ratna Kumari Shahpura, the BJP senior leader from Jaipur, Rajasthan who is campaigning in Jammu. She highlighted the various schemes launched by Modi Government for empowerment of women in the country.
The election rally at Mahanpur was also addressed by DDC Chairman Kathua, Col (retd) Mahan Singh.
