JAMMU, May 23: A woman allegedly made a suicide bid on her life in Karan Nagar area of Jammu.
The woman was identified as Geeta Devi (54) wife of Inder Singh of Karan Nagar (Jammu), police sources said. They said the woman allegedly poured kerosene oil on herself at the roof top of her house and set self on fire.
“Till the family members came to her rescue, she was burnt severely. With grievous burn injuries, she was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where her condition was stated to be critical when the last reports came in,” sources added.
They said Panjtirthi police had taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation into the incident. However, quoting family members, sources said that woman was in depression for last about two months.
