JAMMU, Aug 20: The Wushu Association of J&K will be conducting a selection trial for the UT J&K Senior Wushu team on August 23 and 24 at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC) in Srinagar. This trial aims to shortlist athletes for the upcoming 33rd Senior Wushu Championship, scheduled to be held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from September 21 to 26.
A selection committee has been appointed to oversee the trials, ensuring that the most skilled and qualified athletes are chosen for the team. The committee will be led by Dronacharya Awardee Kuldeep Handoo, along with several esteemed members, including international players and experienced coaches.
All participating athletes are required to bring their Date of Birth (DOB) proof, Medical Fitness certificate, and four passport-size photographs. Without these documents, players will not be allowed to participate in the trials.
Following the selection, a 21-day coaching camp will be held in Srinagar from August 30 to 19 September, 2024. The selected team is scheduled to depart for Dehradun on September 20, where they will compete in the national championship.
