* Leaders take oath to protect democracy

JAMMU, Aug 9: On the occasion of the Youth Congress Foundation Day, a flag hoisting ceremony was held in Jammu East, organized by Anirudh Sawhney, the State general secretary of the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), and PYC Coordinator for Jammu East, along with DYC president Vankul Jamba, general secretaries Suhaib Manhas and Mohommad Anzar.
The flag was hoisted by Maan Singh Rathore, Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Incharge for J&K and PYC president Akash Bharat, accompanied by State vice presidents Divyansh Singh, Fiaz Diwan and Ranjoth Singh, State general secretary Rahul Tandon, Harneet Kaur Super-Seh In-Charge for J&K, and others. During the event, Maan Singh Rathore, along with other Youth Congress leaders, inaugurated a plantation drive as part of a nationwide initiative by the Youth Congress.
The Youth Congress leaders planted and distributed plants to people. They also held the flag hoisting ceremony, later distributing sweets amongst people. They held an oath ceremony wherein they undertook an oath to protect Indian democracy and fight injustice in the country.
Youth Congress leaders said that the drive aims to contribute to environmental conservation while encouraging the youth to take active roles in protecting the planet. The leaders highlighted the significance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of responsibility among young people towards their surroundings. Plants were also donated during the event, symbolizing the Youth Congress’s dedication to not only political activism but also to environmental stewardship.
The leaders criticized the current government’s policies, particularly targeting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what they described as a failure to address pressing issues like unemployment. They argued that the BJP’s focus on divisive politics is destroying the future of the country’s youth, leaving them with limited opportunities.
The Youth Congress leaders called on the Government to prioritize job creation and take concrete steps to secure the future of young Indians. They emphasized that the youth are the backbone of the nation, and neglecting their needs could have long-term detrimental effects on the country’s progress.
Youth Congress leaders Shafqat Khokhar (Tinu), Mohd Rafiq, Parvaz Fazail, Balwant, Muhammad Anzar, Abdul Basit, Mohd Sameer, Shabaz Parvaz, Usaman Malik, Arif (Affu), Sajid Malik and Adnan were also present.
